Vale a pena voltar a analisar a relação entre o mal e a religião em Kant. Mas este artigo aborda a problemática prévia a esta questão, isto é, a própria questão do mal tal como Kant a apresenta na primeira parte do livro de 1793, A religião nos limites da simples razão. Depois da introdução que elucida o espanto dos primeiros leitores deste livro, procura-se, na base da análise hermenêutica dos textos, verificar a articulação entre a disposição originária para (...) o bem e a propensão para o mal. Encontra-se em seguida a aporia da relação entre o desejo e a realidade do mal: de onde provém o desejo do mal moral? Será preciso, no itinerário desta resposta, elucidar o conceito de natureza, bem como a relação com a interpretação kantiana do pecado original. A conclusão volta a introduzir a questão da liberdade na compreensão do mal, numa espécie de tensão pós-kantiana entre moral e metafísica. ///Il convient de réanalyser la relation entre le mal et la religion chez Kant. Le présent article aborde cependant une problématique préalable á celle-ci, á savoir la question meme du mal telle que Kant la présente dans la première partie du livre de 1793, La religion dans les limites de la simple raison. Après l'ntroduction qui rappelle 1'étonnement des premiers lecteurs de ce livre, on essaie, sur la base d'une analyse herméneutique des textes. de discerner l'articulation entre la disposition originaire pour le bien et la propension au mal. On rencontre ensuite l'aporie entre le désir et la rélité du mal: d'où vient le mal? Sur l'itinéraire de cette réponse il faudra éclaircir le concept de nature, ainsi que l'interprétation kantienne du péché originel. La conclusion réintroduit la question de la liberté dans la compréhension du mal, en une sorte de tension post-kantienne entre morale et metaphysique. /// The relation between evil and religion in the philosophy of Kant deserves e renewed analysis. The approach this article takes, however, is to begin by treating a prior problematic: the question of evil as it is presented in the first part ot Religion within the Limits of Simple Reason (1793). After an introduction which recalls the astonishment of the work's first readers, we shall attempt to discern the articulation between the originary disposition towards the good and the propensity towards evil. We discover, thus, the problem between desire and the reality of evil: what is the origin of evil? The answer implies a clarification of the concept of nature and the Kantian interpretation of original sin. The conclusion reintroduces the question of freedom in the understanding of evil, reflecting thereby the post-Kantian between morals and metaphysics. (shrink)

La de la incertidumbre es una de las características que mejor define a nuestra sociedad occidental. Vanguardia del mundo durante siglos, se encuentra con que ve cómo se recorta su protagonismo. Desde esa incertidumbre, se cuestiona por su futuro inmediato. La historia reciente pone ante nuestros ojos algunas claves: aparición en escena de grandes potencias demográficas (China e India), industrialización, desarrollo urbano mundial y desplazamiento hacia el Pacífico del eje económico planetario son tres de las más evidentes. En un plano (...) acaso no tan evidente, se están produciendo otros cambios de enorme calado: transición demográfica (mortalidad y fecundidad), cambios en los valores y tipologías familiares, papel insoslayable de una economía basada en la innovación y el conocimiento (I+D+i) y presencia creciente e insustituible de la mujer en todos los ámbitos de la sociedad. This article argues that environmental considerations fall within the scope of medical bioethics, and there are implications specific to medical education. It endorses the need to expand the scope and epistemology of contemporary medical bioethics discourse by including themes related to environmental considerations. Our discussion begins by providing a brief history of environmental bioethics. It then offers a critique of three specific health and environmental issues, namely technology, toxics, and consumption, and discusses how these issues are key to articulating moral (...) considerations of human health and subsequently medicine and its teaching. Lastly, it explores criticisms of including environmental issues into the bioethical debate before providing suggestions of how environmental ethics can be included into the medical curriculum. This article concludes by suggesting theoretical possibilities for environmentally inclusive bioethics, such as reorienting bioethical discussions to its original environmental advocacy and supporting environmental bioethics as a competency in medical education. Para lidar com seus medos primitivos, o homem utilizava a imagem como mediação destas tensões. Nas pinturas rupestres das cavernas e nas práticas de magia, rituais buscavam apaziguar as decorrências de nossas fragilidades, sobretudo na dimensão da finitude do homem tensionada pela sua relação com a natureza. A tentativa de superação desta tensão deu-se, historicamente, sob a égide da razão. Todavia, na falência do plano moderno do esclarecimento pautado no desencantamento do mundo, que se daria pela elevação dos sujeitos em (...) uma ruptura com sua condição de minoridade de sua própria existência resultou no pacto com as entranhas do pensamento mítico e por consequência com os fantasmas não superados de seu tempo. Assim, por meio de uma revisão bibliográfica, objetivou-se constituir uma análise de fenômenos como o Youtube, a selfie e o Twitter, entre outros, para que se possa demonstrar, em sua forma e conteúdo, que a compulsão por tornar a própria vida privada em um espetáculo público nas redes sociais, denota um contexto no qual existir passa pela mediação simbólica da auto emissão através de imagens, de modo a conjugar o ser à proporção do aparecer; assim, estar fora das plataformas virtuais ganha o peso ontológico de não existir, pois o cogito de nosso tempo resume-se em apareço logo existo. De tal modo, contemporaneamente, com a evolução das novas tecnologias, o ciberespaço e suas plataformas se fazem muito presentes nas interações humanas e, neste contexto, a imagem ganha forças de protagonista. Desta maneira, conclui-se que travestido pela roupagem tecnológica, o uso da imagem ainda guarda as mesmas intenções de suas expressões arcaicas: buscar a permanência do sujeito frente aos medos primitivos. En este trabajo, se analizan los modos en que se define, vivencia y valoriza el trabajo en experiencias de organización colectiva de la economía popular. Partimos de poner en diálogo resultados de dos investigaciones etnográficas desarrolladas junto a dos organizaciones nucleadas en la Confederación/Unión de Trabajadores de la Economía Popular. Mientras que los estudios sobre estas experiencias señalaron que la apelación a un sujeto trabajador constituyó la base del proceso de formulación de demandas por derechos hacia el Estado, aquí buscaremos (...) dar cuenta del modo en que la construcción de una definición ampliada del trabajo permea las prácticas cotidianas de quienes integran las organizaciones. Recuperando perspectivas antropológicas que propusieron repensar el trabajo más allá de modelos económicos hegemónicos y aportes de la economía feminista, buscaremos mostrar que tanto las prácticas desarrolladas en las unidades productivas como sus modos de interactuar con el Estado evidencian la imbricación de lo que habitualmente se conceptualiza como productivo y reproductivo, laboral y comunitario, y dan lugar a una reinvención de aquello que se entiende como “trabajo” y en particular como trabajos que valen o son considerados “productivos”. Sostenemos que estas formas de valorizar, jerarquizar y disputar qué es trabajo y qué trabajos son socialmente relevantes constituye la base de la reivindicación del valor de quienes los llevan adelante en su lucha por el reconocimiento de sus derechos. Embora o livro didático seja um material didático antigo na educação escolar, na disciplina de educação física, sua utilização ainda é incipiente e apenas no ano de 2017, o Plano Nacional do Livro Didático possibilitou a aquisição de um manual do professor. Assim, o objetivo desta investigação foi examinar o propósito da seção denominada “Construção de valores” no livro didático no livro didático intitulado Práticas corporais – Educação física 1º e 2º anos do componente curricular educação física. Tratou-se de um (...) estudo bibliográfico e documental, cuja análise se fundamentou em alguns autores da Teoria Crítica e da Teoria Histórico-Cultural. O livro didático estudado contempla as unidades temáticas estabelecidas na BNCC e busca abarcar as dimensões do conhecimento, por meio de temas que envolvem a apresentação conceitual do conteúdo estudado, a experimentação e a análise de atividades motoras e atividades para o acompanhamento e avaliação dos alunos, com vistas a formar estudantes críticos e criativos. A proposta apresentada no manual adere às orientações da BNCC e agrega valores e princípios de manutenção da atual forma de sociabilidade. A seção “Construção de valores”, apesar de destacar as práticas esportivas paralímpicas, secundariza esse conhecimento específico da educação física para promover o desenvolvimento de valores morais. Por fim, a organização e a sistematização do livro didático, ao atenderem às orientações dos documentos normativos nacionais, promovem uma pseudoformação. (shrink)

Los procesos culturales de los pueblos rurales de América Latina en cuanto a su parte inmaterial, están íntimamente relacionados con la memoria colectiva y/o social, la cual puede fungir, entre otras cosas, para afianzar la transmisión de leyendas creadas por la sabiduría popular por medio de la tradición oral. En los llanos centro-occidentales venezolanos a lo largo de más dos siglos se ha diseminado cantidad de leyendas que cuentan la aparición de espíritus que vagan por las sabanas solitarias, sobre todo (...) en las noches de mayor oscuridad; los llamados “espantos de la sabana” son las almas de antiguos pobladores, ya conocidos, que deambulan pidiendo oraciones para su descanso eterno, o por no poder encontrar la paz que procuran. Dichas narraciones, al pasar de generación en generación forman parte de la identidad llanera y son incluidas en la literatura nacional; en el presente artículo se destaca esta característica colocando como ejemplo la novela de Rómulo Gallegos, Cantaclaro , así como coplas populares o aquellas recopiladas por Alberto Arvelo Torrealba para establecer el enlace existente entre la creación y transmisión de las leyendas y la religiosidad de dicha cultura. Religiosidad.Cultural processes of rural populations in Latin America while its immaterial dimension, are closely related to social and collective memory, which can serve, among other thins, to strengthen the transmission of legends created by wisdom through oral tradition. In the plains of the Midwest Venezuelan, during more than two centuries, were heard many legends that tell the apparition of spirits which roam the savannas lonely, especially on the darkest nights. These "ghosts of Savannah" are the souls of old settlers who roam (roam) because they can not find peace or because they are asking for prayers for his eternal rest. These stories from generation to generation are part of the identity of the plains and are included national literature. This article emphasizes this feature, taking as an example the novel by Romulo Gallegos, as well as popular songs or those compiled by Alberto Arvelo Torrealba to establish the link between the creation and transmission of legends and religion of that culture. O presente artigo tem como objetivo relatar um estudo filosófico a partir da experiência em sala de aula sobre o conceito de espanto (thauma), considerando as perspectivas de Aristóteles e de Schopenhauer. Essa atividade foi realizada no âmbito do Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID), subprojeto Filosofia, da Universidade Estadual de Londrina, no Primeiro Semestre de 2023. O principal propósito das aulas foi compreender o conceito de espanto na filosofia de Aristóteles e a peculiar utilização (...) que Schopenhauer faz desse conceito. Para atingir esse objetivo, adotou-se a metodologia de Silvio Gallo, que consiste na divisão da aula em quatro etapas, quais sejam: sensibilização, problematização, investigação e conceituação. Ao longo do texto, serão expostos tanto o passo a passo quanto os resultados da implementação em sala de aula das etapas da metodologia de Gallo. Além de obras de Aristóteles e de Schopenhauer, foram utilizados trechos deA morte de Ivan Ilitch, de Lev Tolstói, e A Metamorfose, de Franz Kafka,com o intuito de despertar o interesse dos alunos, incentivá-los a refletir sobre o espanto, expressar suas opiniões e dúvidas, explorar e sintetizar o que foi aprendido de maneira clara e objetiva. Os resultados obtidos foram satisfatórios, com os alunos demonstrando maior entendimento sobre o tema e maior capacidade de argumentação. (shrink)

Este artigo tem por objetivo propor um diálogo entre o conceito de “thaumázein”, partindo do diálogo Teeteto de Platão, e a noção de “sublime” de Friedrich Schiller, aproximando-os a partir da noção de “páthos”. A função deste debate será pensar as associações entre os termos e sua função dentro da iniciação à filosofia. Em um primeiro momento, será discutido o contexto no qual “thaumázein” aparece em Platão para, em seguida, apresentar brevemente a noção de “sublime” de Schiller a modo de (...) ampliá-lo e localizar sua função dentro de uma perspectiva educacional do filósofo. En este artículo proponemos pensar en la pospandemia privilegiando el punto de vista de la ciencia ficción. Seguimos aquí la lógica que Silvia Schwarzböck eligió para pensar el “regreso de la democracia” en Argentina. La posdictadura, señala Schwarzböck, es la continuación de la dictadura por otros medios: los de la vida falsa como único horizonte, y dado que la estética es la disciplina que piensa rigurosamente en términos de _no verdad_, es esta disciplina la que habilita una posibilidad para pensar (...) lo que desde la filosofía parece impensable. Recurrimos entonces al post- como divisa de la no verdad (la ficción), cuyo horizonte de acción posible construye escenarios con las reglas de la ficción. Entre el porvenir funesto de los apocalipsis ya sucedidos, y los fines del mundo que no terminan, el sintagma “pospandemia” habla del tiempo retornante que nos devuelve a la estasis de un presente denso. Habla también de la necesidad de ficcionar la pandemia (o su secuaz, el virus) bajo las reglas de una fábula especulativa. Una estética y una política. (shrink)

Leading philosopher of religion D. Z. Phillips argues that intellectuals need not see their task as being for or against religion, but as one of understanding it. What stands in the way of this task are certain methodological assumptions about what enquiry into religion must be. Beginning with Bernard Williams on Greek gods, Phillips goes on to examine these assumptions in the work of Hume, Feuerbach, Marx, Frazer, Tylor, Marett, Freud, Durkheim, Le;vy-Bruhl, Berger and Winch. The result exposes confusion, but (...) also gives logical space to religious belief without advocating personal acceptance of that belief, and shows how the academic study of religion may return to the contemplative task of doing conceptual justice to the world. Religion and the Hermeneutics of Contemplation extends in important ways D. Z. Phillips' seminal 1976 book Religion Without Explanation. In 1999, da Silva, D'Ottaviano and Sette proposed a general definition for the term translation between logics and presented an initial segment of its theory. Logics are characterized, in the most general sense, as sets with consequence relations and translations between logics as consequence-relation preserving maps. In a previous paper the authors introduced the concept of conservative translation between logics and studied some general properties of the co-complete category constituted by logics and conservative translations between them. In this paper we (...) present some conservative translations involving classical logic, Lukasiewicz three-valued system L3, the intuitionistic system I1 and several paraconsistent logics, as for instance Sette's system P1, the D'Ottaviano and da Costa system J3 and da Costa's systems Cn, 1≤ n≤ω. This is Part 1 of a paper on fibred semantics and combination of logics. It aims to present a methodology for combining arbitrary logical systems L i , i ∈ I, to form a new system L I . The methodology `fibres' the semantics K i of L i into a semantics for L I , and `weaves' the proof theory (axiomatics) of L i into a proof system of L I . There are various ways of doing this, we (...) distinguish by different names such as `fibring', `dovetailing' etc, yielding different systems, denoted by L F I , L D I etc. Once the logics are `weaved', further `interaction' axioms can be geometrically motivated and added, and then systematically studied. The methodology is general and is applied to modal and intuitionistic logics as well as to general algebraic logics. We obtain general results on bulk, in the sense that we develop standard combining techniques and refinements which can be applied to any family of initial logics to obtain further combined logics. The main results of this paper is a construction for combining arbitrary, (possibly not normal) modal or intermediate logics, each complete for a class of (not necessarily frame) Kripke models. We show transfer of recursive axiomatisability, decidability and finite model property. Some results on combining logics (normal modal extensions of K) have recently been introduced by Kracht and Wolter, Goranko and Passy and by Fine and Schurz as well as a multitude of special combined systems existing in the literature of the past 20-30 years. This article analyzes five stories from the volume Las cosas que perdimos en el fuego, by Mariana Enríquez: The Dirty Boy, Adela's House, Pablito nailed a little nail: an evocation of Big-Eared Petiso, My neighbor's yard and Under the black water, where the author rewrites the theme of childhood. This rewriting is far from an idyllic vision, since it deals with the problematization of modern childhood; the main characters of these stories are children who violate or are violated and who, (...) symbolically, propose the absence of future and hope. For the analysis of these stories, I use categories typical of the aesthetics of the grotesque, from the concepts proposed by Wolfgang Kayser in The Grotesque. Its configuration in painting and literature allows me to transcend the conventions of terror, a genre with which Enríquez's work is generally associated. More than the supernatural components typical of terror or the fantastic, I emphasize in this article the social criticism and the notion of emptiness that make up the poetics of the Argentine author, which is why she proposes the category of “social horror”. The world that Mariana Enríquez presents is a gloomy and disjointed one, with no foreign forces to blame, that forces us to look at the reality of our modern society. (shrink)

Organ procurement presents several ethical concerns (from what constitutes acceptable criteria for death to issues involved in specifically designating to whom an organ can be given), but none is more central than the concern for what are appropriate means for acquiring organs. The following discussion attempts a different perspective on the issue of organ procurement by arguing that, rather than appealing to our charitable consciences or our pocketbooks, relinquishing our organs after death in this day and age is, in fact, (...) obligatory for most people. Each of us is pressed by the growing demand for our organs should we die ?rightly,? and that desperate need has risen to such a level that not to release our organs for transplantation would constitute a serious moral wrong. Ancient Peripatetics and Neoplatonists had great difficulty coming up with a consistent, interpretatively reasonable, and empirically adequate Aristotelian theory of complete mixture or complexion. I explain some of the main problems, with special attention to authors with whom Avicenna was familiar. I then show how Avicenna used a new doctrine of the occultness of substantial form to address these problems. The result was in some respects an improvement, but it also gave rise to a new set of problems, which were (...) later to prove fateful in the history of early modern philosophy. (shrink)

He was inspired ‘to love wisdom itself, whatever it might be, and to search for it, pursue it, hold it, and embrace it firmly’. And thus he embarked on his arduous journey to the truth, which was at the same time a conversion to Catholic Christianity, and which culminated twelve years later (...) in his experience in the garden in Milan.
